Performance Anxiety

Performance anxiety? Yeah, I have some of that. I am really jazzed about using this new software that lets me do a spoken word blog (This page is a blog for those who do not know.). But, I get my headset on, and get ready to work, and I mentally shut down. What if people in the house can hear me? What will I sound like? I had a lot of this when I did the Tony Bruno Promo thing. I ended up doing it in the car. That seems to be my soundproof studio where no one can bother me. My other problem. If we are going to be frank about it... I would not use the word "jazzed" while talking. I would probably swear a lot more in a spoken word format. That would not be real hip for some of the family. As for real news... Don called at 6 AM Monday morning.... The band was on its way from Des Moines to Louisville... And that route took them through Peoria. "Dude, we are coming through Peoria, see if anyone wants to meet for coffee.". Excellent! I have not seen Don for a few years, but if it means Denny's in North Pekin at 6:45, half the family will show up! Mom, Dan and I all found a way up there. I totally forgot the camera, and left it on the counter in my haste out the door. Don took a few pics, maybe he can email them to me. Mom and Dads house is getting close. REALLY! Too bad its not a week sooner. Sylvia is out of school starting today, and guess where she will be staying till the folks move.... You guessed it. Check out the front page for the newest pics of the house. We planted 4 new trees this year. I am trying to surround the yard in foliage. I was so stressed out about the thought of someone buying the lot next door that I am now militant about blocking out any neighbors. Ang and her Dad finished up the back fence this week. Ang was tired of her horses eating her raspberry bushes. I thought a new fence might have been overkill, but who am I to argue. We have been kicking around the idea of buying some undeveloped acreage as an investment idea. There are several 10 and 20 acre wooded lots for sale around here. I have been skeptical, since you are paying much more than it appraises for... I also have been hearing about a real estate bubble. There was an article in the Wall Street Journal this past week about it. Who knows what we will do! I still want to build a pub in the basement, maybe we should throw our money that direction. Summer is in Tuesday night soccer. Of course, I forgot the camera! To the left is a picture taken by my camera phone. Summer is over on the right. I promise to take more pics next week. One thing you do not see in the picture, Aiden is flipping out on the other side of the fence... He wants to be out there kicking the ball as well. He nearly climbed the chain link fence to get inside! I have not seen this kind of ambition from him before.

Steele Married?

I was prowling around the site looking for things to correct, and what should appear... The Sports Board. Wow! I pulled that down last year thinking no one was using it, imagine my surprise when I found Joe, Tom and Rob were posting there before baseball started this year. Man.... I miss that! I am now wishing I had signed up. Oh well, there is always next year. Well, another one will soon bite the dust. Steele emailed me to let us know that he is getting married in September. I am waiting for the plague of locusts to hit next. LOL. Actually, I am very happy for him and the lucky lady. More details as I get them. Steele married and Kennedy with a kid... We are all getting old now! Aiden has a new trick. Throwing rocks on our cars! There is nothing finer than leaving your kids alone for 5 minutes, and finding the hood of your car covered in gravel. For the record, I did not beat them! There was a dialog set up between sides. Summer decided that covering her brother in dirt was a fun thing to do as well. Once again, we had a conversation, and a time out ensued. "Ashlee, Stephanie, John and Ian. That was my final 4 for Survivor." That was my statement at the beginning of the season before episode 1. I got one of the 4!
